The $4.5 million renovated emergency department was the first major investment in the Dover campus in nearly a decade and Candor Construction Group was entrusted with the construction. The completed expansion has 28 rooms, expanded registration and waiting areas, enlarged triage and fast-track areas to speed patient care during busy periods, new cardiac and trauma treatment rooms, a dedicated pediatric area, decontamination room and a room set aside to treat victims of sexual assault. There is a new entrance from the outside parking areas and a corridor from the main hospital lobby that leads directly into the ED.
