Saint Clare’s Hospital’s
new Katena Center for Mother & Child exemplifies
the latest look of the family friendly
atmosphere hospitals are
now creating for child birthing and
care.
When entering
the Center, one is immediately greeted
with the soft, welcoming textures of
wood in the handrails, moldings, flooring
and custom trims. As
one strolls the corridors the collages
of pictures of infants born at Saint
Clare’s
encourages you to walk farther.
The
center has 23 completely private “suites” that
allow new families to bond with their
newborns in a comfortable, sophisticated
environment. Rich
woods, soothing colors and special lighting
create a warm, nurturing setting.
The beautifully
appointed private patient rooms are
designed into three zones: one for
the nurse’s
work area, another for the family and,
most importantly, a third for mother
and baby. The headwall instrumentation
is hidden behind specially designed
artwork and surrounded with custom
millwork.
The new nursery
provides total care for newborns and
the Special Care
Nursery has eight bassinets with state-of-the-art
equipment, new monitoring and charting
systems and a separate room for moms
to bond in privacy.
As
received by Candor Construction Group
upon completion: “The
efforts of you and your staff and the
entire team of contractors you assembled
have our appreciation for completing
this job with such high quality craftsmanship.
I would like to say thank you for a job
well done from all of our employees,
physicians and staff.”
